Too Much Information

Would a Parent say to child I’m unable to buy you XYZ because I paid extra on the principal of the mortgage? Would a Doctor say to a Patient I’m prescribing the medicine not because it’s the best, but because I get kick back from the pharmaceutical company? Would wife say to her husband I married you not because of love but because my biological clock’s ticking was deafening? As true as it may be, some things are best unsaid. With that not unsaid, Tom Thibodeau’s player rotation is not my business, and has brought to light the idiocy of what may be more painful than the lie of Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy and The America Dream neatly packed in a Value Meal of heartbreaking heartburn forced fed to me. All this time I thought the coach’s job was to come up with a plan and put the best 5 guys on the court. My voice this that of fan, not of man that needs to understand a coach’s bureaucratic bullshit reason to punish or fire up a player to play better or reward another because they brown nose the best or practice better. I’m here to observe and enjoy not make sense of semantics.

Rotation. You’ve hiding from me all these years in plain sight. Why reveal yourself to others, so they know you existed, but still feel the need to hide from me while I screamed “Put Frank in the game!” While I wondered, “Why aren’t they playing Kevin Knox?” While I grimaced “Why is guy still in the game?” All the time, you sat right under my nose, scentless, mute and in the know. Rotation, are you aware of how much trouble you caused of the years? How many coaches you’ve got fired? How many players you’ve gotten traded? How many games you’ve cost us? Did Not Play (DNP – Coach’s Decision), should really be Due To Rotation (DTR – Coach is Delusional). Rotation, I’m not angry at you. I just think, you need to be a bit more flexible. It’s also ok to admit when you’re wrong. Why should you be the scapegoat for coaches that are too stupid to, match players up with best match up that leads to points, turnovers for the other team and wins. Allow me to acknowledge a few game changers that never got a chance to change the game: Kevin Knox, Willy Hernangómez, Frank Ntilikina, Trey Burke, Jeremy Lin, Because of you Rotation, I hope you’re proud of what you’ve done. Now you can go back into hiding you scoundrel, you menace, you fiend!

Ever Frustrated, Fearful and Furiously Yours,

Fanofa Knick
